UC Leuven-Limburg, abbreviated UCLL, is the brand name under which the non-profit-making organisation UC Leuven and the non-profit-making organisation UC Limburg operate as a joint venture of two non-profit organisations that are integrated and operate as a whole.
Data from website users

Data of persons participating in practice-based research
Personal data in the context of research can take very different forms. Research data
Researchers collect, analyse and manage personal data that are necessary for practice-based scientific research. This data is kept for as long as is necessary for the research. Depending on the nature of the research, this retention period can be up to 20 years.
The number of UC Leuven-Limburg staff who have access to personal data is limited. Employees of UC Leuven-Limburg only have access to personal data where they need this information to properly perform their task.
In addition, UC Leuven-Limburg has appointed a Data Protection Officer who advises us on the privacy rules and checks whether UC Leuven-Limburg complies with the privacy rules.
We use technical measures to protect the personal data against unauthorised access, unauthorised use, loss or theft such as a strong password, firewalls, antivirus, back-up, etc.
For practice-based scientific research, the researchers call upon the KU Leuven ethics committees. These committees perform a risk analysis before starting the research. Depending on the results of this risk analysis, the researcher ensures appropriate security measures.
